Too bad it does not do graphics. If you don’t need the macros, might as well use Apple’s keyboard shortcuts. Disappointed

This is one of the first applications I purchased for iOS and I am very happy with it. Especially since custom keyboards became available in iOS.

Its glitchy, slow and not finished. There is no comma or dot symbol on digital keyboard. Deal breaker.

Overall Im quite happy about this app but there are some little things that need some adjustment. Sometimes the keyboard shows up with a strange color or even worse it doesnt show up at all. Plus I noticed that in some PHP form when Im typing the suggestions dont show up.

This application, which I paid $5 for, is now 100% worthless due to the latest update from the developers. Thats like Apple taking my iPhone back after I paid for it, because they decided to change their service terms after the fact. Have a little respect for your customers, Smile—Ill just call you developers, because you cant possibly make anyone smile with your policy changes. At least youve opened my eyes to explore for new solutions that make more sense, and hopefully will learn from your folly, and opt NOT to screw their paying customers over.

A few major issues 1 the keyboard is bad. they should have modeled it after the ios9 keyboard 2 on the iPad pro it has bugs 3 same issue as all the other with the sync problem 4 compatability not widespread Switched to attest on OS X and waiting for an alternative for iOS.

The app that I am using all the time to chat is Whatsapp. Unfortunatly text expander does not work at all. Crash everytime.

In order to enable the keyboard (which is the only reason to buy this app), you have to give the developer full access to anything you type with that keyboard. I don’t think that is reasonable.

TE is an essential app. And the developer is great at customer support and feature requests. Thanks for adding snippet search to iOS!

The latest update rendered this app dead. It does nothing. It wont even crash!

I have an iPhone 6+ and since upgrading, the app will open, but become immediately unresponsive. Of course, SmileOnMyMac has only canned responses in their “Knowledge Base” support page and nothing that actually addresses, you know, support issues. This is an essential piece of software on my iPhone and Mac (just upgraded to 5.0), but the devs need to wait to release something that actually works, not just meet some deadline or some other developer is going to eat their lunch with a better product, which is what they did to TypeIt4Me.

Come on team. Lets ship clean code. This is rubbish.

Until this app works without requiring full access, I wont use it. I dont want this company to have full access and be able to read everything on my devices. That is a crazy and unacceptable violation of privacy.

Used to be brilliant. Now it is unredeemably broken. The dedicated keyboard is HORRIBLE and ABSOLUTELY UNUSABLE. You will regret purchasing this product. It is different than Text Expander on your Mac (which I love). Save your money and buy a different product. DO NOT BUY!!!

1. TextExpander is working well for me on and iPhone 6 with iOS 8.3 2. One really should read the user guide and understand the use cases before complaining 3. Privacy issue that several complained about is justified and should be addressed by the developer directly given the access required to share a keyboard. It should be noted however that ANY keyboard you add to your iOS device at this time requires such access if that keyboard is given permission (by you) to be used in other 3rd party Apps. 4. Many people need to clean out their phones, reboot and clear the cobwebs from previous migrations. I’ve been in touch with Apple support recently and one of the biggest issues they are dealing with are phones and iPads that have not been restarted or reset in months… I will come back to this review should I experience anything odd that users need to become aware of but, for bug reports and complaints, I will contact the developer directly to get the support that I need rather than publicly flaming a team that is doing their best to deliver a feature that Apple OS sorely lacks.

Didnt apply the most recent update because of embedded javascript (unsecure) – and somehow the app started popping up its keyboard and freezing anyway – apparently the developer had coded the app to ping somewhere outside my iPad in the background, resulting behavior, after a few days of not updating the app started the freezing behavior. Deleted.
